Sausage with Wine Pairings

October is National Sausage Month. Reach for wine instead of your favorite beer.
Here are unique and delicious wine pairings.

Italian Sausage – Obvious choice is Tuscan Chianti. Try an Arizona Grenache instead. Sweet Italian sausage perfect with a spicy wine. Go bold with the wine.

Bratwurst – Everyone thinks beer, but a Pinot Noir from California is a terrific match.

Andouille Sausage – Try a dry sparkling wine.

Chorizo – Choose a Spanish wine from the Rioja region. However, Arizona produces Malbec wines to try. Another perfect pairing would be LDV Winery’s Syrah.

Let’s talk hot dogs! America’s favorite sausage. Perfect pairing depends on the hot dog style.

NY Style (Kraut & deli mustard) – choose Gewurztraminer or Pinot Gris to standup to the kraut’s sourness.

Chicago Dog (tomato, pickle, onion, mustard, sport peppers and celery salt) needs a wine with acidity to match with the flavors. Try a dry Riesling.

Corn Dog – It is almost State Fair Season. Try a corn dog with brut sparkling wine.
